Domino Server Configuration

The onsite Lotus Notes Administrator is required to carry-out this task.

The customer's Domino server must be configured to forward email traffic destined for selected, externally published, email addresses to the SMTP server hosted on the CTI server.

For example: A Lotus Notes Administrator will configure the externally available email address support@acme.com to be forwarded to the email address support@192.168.10.x (where the IP address 192.168.10.x is the IP address of the CTI server).

Important: The IP address of the CTI server (e.g. 192.168.10.x) will need to be specified as an exception to anti-relay enforcement on the Domino server, this is to allow Domino to relay SMTP traffic to and from the CTI server. Also, please note that only email addressed to those SMTP addresses the customer wantes to be handled by the CTI queuing s/w will be relayed, all other traffic will remain unchanged.

Forward Email Traffic

The Lotus Notes Administrator will use either:

Note:
There is an alternative option for sites using an external server (i.e. independent of the Domino server) to receive SMTP traffic and for SPAM and anti-virus, prior to it being forwarded to the Domino server. The external server can be configured to relay the required addresses to the SMTP server hosted on the CTI server directly, hence bypassing the Domino server completely.
